OREANDA-NEWS. Ford Vietnam today announced its best-ever monthly sales performance in October with retail sales jumping 39 percent year-over-year to 2,139 units.

Continued strong demand for the Ranger, EcoSport and Transit nameplates contributed to a monthly sales record and Ford Thailand’s 46 percent yearly sales increase (15,737 units). This makes Ford one of the fastest growing automotive brands in the country this year, and keeps the company on track for a record year in sales.

“Our full line-up of class-leading Ford vehicles continues to attract a wide range of Vietnamese customers who appreciate the unmatched value in their respective segments,” said Pham Van Dung, managing director, Ford Vietnam.

The Ranger continues to be one of the best-selling vehicles in Vietnam with record monthly sales of 1,002 units in October, an 84-percent increase over the same period last year. This helped drive its year-to-date performance with sales rising 73 percent to 5,978 units.

The Transit reaffirmed its segment leading position in the commercial van segment, with its all-time monthly sales record of 591 units, a 56 percent increase year-over-year. Year-to-date sales of the Transit have increased 42 percent to 4,405 units, as business owners and operators across a range of industries continue to appreciate the durability, versatility and value proposition that this high-quality commercial vehicle delivers.

The EcoSport compact SUV also continues its strong performance in October with 358 units sold, up 32 percent over the same time last year. Since its launch in mid-2014 in Vietnam, the EcoSport has helped to define a completely new vehicle segment in Vietnam with its unique blend of versatility, fuel efficiency and smart technologies that appeal to an active urban lifestyle.

Ford Vietnam further strengthened its product lineup at the Vietnam Motor Show in Ho Chi Minh City, introducing the new Ford Focus, with its powerful and efficient 1.5L EcoBoost engine. They also unveiled the new Ford Everest, which raises the bar in the medium SUV segment in the region. The new Focus will be available in Vietnam this December, while the new Everest will be available in the first quarter of 2016.

Ford Vietnam continues to expand its dealer network to serve the demands of more customers nationwide. Later this year, Ford Vietnam is planning to upgrade a 3S outlet into an authorized dealer and open a new boutique for sales in the South of Vietnam.
