OREANDA-NEWS. VTB has granted a seven-year 1.1 billion rouble loan to leading Russian healthcare services provider MD Medical Group (Mother and Child). The funds will go towards building a new in-patient wing at the Mother and Child hospital in Novosibirsk.

The project comes in response to the huge demand for the company’s high quality medical services in Novosibirsk and neighbouring regions. The new 7,000 sq m wing will have 48 beds and 20 offices and will enable the hospital to offer new services, including some that were previously not available in either the city or region.

The new wing is due to open in early 2017.

“The bank has long enjoyed successful cooperation with MD Medical Group. As a result of VTB support, the holding is confidently asserting its leading positions on the Russian healthcare services market,” First Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board Yuri Soloviev said.

“The new wing will allow us to substantially expand the activity of our Novosibirsk hospital and successfully utilise its potential in the region. As of now, the in-patient hospital in Novosibirsk is operating at maximum capacity and the introduction of new facilities will help meet the demand for our high-tech services more effectively,” Mark Kurtser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MD Medical Group said. “In addition, we plan to expand the scope of services provided with a new pediatric in-patient clinic, the expansion of the diagnostics centre and the establishment of an oncological department and a radioisotope diagnostics lab, which are unique for the city. We are pleased with the performance of the network that we acquired in Novosibirsk a year ago and its results are important growth factors for the group as a whole. We are confident that the opening of the new wing will consolidate our leadership in the Novosibirsk region.”
