OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas had a working dinner with the president of the world’s largest bank ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) Jiang Jianqing in Suzhou tonight, to whom he introduced the opportunities for investing in Estonia. "Chinese banks are among the largest investors in the world. Bringing them together with Estonian large enterprises is one way of realising the companies’ growth ambitions and thereby also growing the Estonian economy," Prime Minister Rõivas said after the meeting. "The bank’s management was very familiar with the developments of the Estonian economy and the sincere interest in Estonia was among other things shown by the fact that the dinner took place on ICBC’s initiative." ICBC is a Chinese bank, which is the world’s biggest by market value as well as assets under management. The volume of the assets under the bank’s management was 3.63 trillion dollars in July of this year, i.e. about 180 times greater than Estonia’s GDP.
