OREANDA-NEWS. The governance of the Energy Union was under discussion at this month’s European Energy Council on 26 November. EU Energy Ministers, European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic and European Commissioner for energy and climate action, Miguel Arias Canete, adopted conclusions on the governance system of the Energy Union.

Ministers also broadly welcomed the Commission’s State of the Energy Union publication released last week.

Other topics discussed at the Energy Council meeting included the Commission’s proposals for energy efficiency labelling, energy market design and a new deal for consumers adopted this summer and the upcoming United Nations climate summit, COP21.
