OREANDA-NEWS. From November 23 to 25, a seminar on features and future of SAP and other ERP systems was held at the IBA–BSU IT Competence Center in Minsk, Belarus. Organized at the initiative of the High–Tech Park and sponsored by IBA Group, the event was intended for higher–education teaching personnel of the specialized departments of Belarusian universities.

The seminar was aimed at bringing the Belarusian higher education closer to the real demands of modern IT business.

The seminar was conducted within the SAP University Alliance partner program. With support from IBA Group, BSU joined the program in 2012 and the IBA–BSU IT Competence Center was appointed as SAP Academic Competence Center.

Andrey Goryainov, Director General of SAP CIS in Belarus, addressed the audience. In his opening speech, he said that creation of SAP products was based on best international practices. Implementing SAP products, business owners raise the efficiency of their enterprises and accelerate the return on investment thus promoting the interest of investors.

During the event, the speakers presented a number of business cases featuring modern ERP systems implemented in the companies across different industries, including Belarusian Railway, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, and Belarusbank. The speakers explored basic integration processes in respect to the SAP ERP's financial management, procurement, production, planning, fixed assets, and human capital.

At the event, IBA Group described the successfully completed project on the implementation of an information management system based on SAP ECC 6.0 for Gazprom Transgaz Belarus (GTB).

The speakers of the seminar also included representatives of the IBA–BSU IT Competence Center and BSU IT laboratory.
