OREANDA-NEWS. PJSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces that as a result of comprehensive modernization program total installed capacity of the Company increased by 29 MW reaching 38.6 GW as of December 1, 2015 (including Gotsatlinskaya HPP launched in October 2015).

Installed capacity of the Volzhskaya HPP increased by 10.5 MW as a result of installation of a new turbine and generator. Installed capacity of the Zhigulevskaya HPP also increased by 10.5 MW after replacement of old turbine at hydro unit No. 12.

In 2015, all hydropower equipment of the Kamskaya HPP has been modernized. Modernization of 23 units of the plant increased the installed capacity of each unit by 3 MW.

Installed capacity of the Novosibirskaya HPP increased by 5 MW as a result of replacement of old turbine at hydro unit No. 6.

New turbines and generators are more efficient, they have longer service life and are cheaper to maintain.

RusHydro's comprehensive modernization program will be completed in 2025 resulting in replacement of all units with expired service life.

Comprehensive modernization program of RusHydro's generation fleet for 2012-2025 provides for replacement of 55% of turbines, 42% of generators, 61% of transformers. This modernization will result in significant reliability, efficiency and security improvement of RusHydro generating facilities, increase in installed capacity of 779 MW as compared to the beginning of 2011. Expected growth of electricity generation will amount to 1375.6 GW.
