OREANDA-NEWS. FCA posted November sales in Italy of more than 37,300 vehicles, representing a 26.1% year-over-year increase and outpacing the industry average (+23.5%) for the eleventh consecutive month. Market share was up 60 basis points to 27.9%. The Fiat brand posted a 29.35% increase, with continued strong performance for the Panda (market leader) and the 500 family (500L and 500X segment leaders). On the back of a particularly strong sales performance, the 500X also climbed to third overall for the month. The Jeep brand maintained its momentum with sales up 67.15% for the month and 204.2% for the year-to-date. Alfa Romeo closed November up 17.75%. A total of six FCA models – Fiat Panda, Fiat Punto, Fiat 500X, Lancia Ypsilon, Fiat 500L and Fiat 500 – ranked in the November top ten.

For the month of November, new vehicle registrations in Italy were up 23.5% to 134,000 units. For the eleven months year-to-date, new registrations were up 15.5% to nearly 1,465,000 units.

FCA outperformed the industry average for the eleventh consecutive month, with November sales in Italy up 26.1% to more than 37,300 vehicles and market share 60 basis points higher at 27.85% For the year-to-date, Group sales were up 17.7% (also above the industry average) to nearly 413,700 vehicles and share was 50 basis points higher at 28.2%. A total of six FCA models ranked among the Italian top ten in November. Immediately behind the Panda – which continued as clear market leader – were the Punto (second) and the 500X (third), which posted a particularly strong monthly performance. Joining the top three were the Ypsilon (fourth), the 500L (eighth) and the 500 (ninth).

Fiat brand posted another strong monthly performance with sales up 29.35% (also above the industry average) to nearly 27,900 vehicles and market share 95 basis points higher at 20.8%. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled more than 305,600 vehicles (+15.8% versus January-November 2014) with market share up slightly to 20.9%. All of the brand’s principal models posted strong sales results. The Panda was market leader with sales of more than 9,900 units and an almost 44% share of the A segment. For the 500 family, the 500X posted a particularly strong month. With sales totaling more than 4,600 units, it ranked third overall and led the Small SUV segment for the sixth consecutive month with a 26.3% share. The 500L continued to dominate the Small MPV segment with a 56.0% share. The 500 also remained popular with customers contributing, together with the Panda, to the Fiat brand achieving a more than 58.0% share of the Italian A segment. Rounding out the result was the Punto, which ranked second overall and was leader in the B segment.

The newly-arrived Fiat Tipo – star of an open house event at dealerships across Italy this coming weekend – will further boost brand sales in the coming months.

Lancia posted November sales of just under 4,300 vehicles with market share at 3.2%. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled more than 52,100 vehicles with market share at 3.6%. The Lancia Ypsilon posted another successful month, ranking as the fourth most popular car in Italy with sales totaling nearly 4,300 units.

Alfa Romeo posted November sales of more than 2,400 vehicles (+17.75% yearover-year), representing a 1.8% market share. For the year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 28,400 vehicles and market share was 1.9%.

Jeep posted another strong monthly performance with sales up 67.15% to nearly 2,800 units and share more than 50 basis points higher at 2.1%. Year-to-date, brand sales were up 204.2% to 27,500 units and share was 70 basis points higher at 1.9%. This success was driven by the Jeep Renegade – which accounted for a 12.3% share of the Small SUV segment – ranking second only to the 500X.
