OREANDA-NEWS. According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", for 10 months of 2015 almost one in two (48.3%) car, which is sold in Russia, was equipped with an automatic transmission. This figure includes not only the classic cars, but the variator, as well as various variants of robotic gearboxes, which are gaining popularity.

We recall that five years ago, the share of cars with automatic accounted got only one-third (33.6%) of the Russian car market. Permanent increase of this share was observed until 2014, when the ratio of the automatic and manual box was 49/51. Accordingly, in the current year the share of automatic transmission decreased slightly (-0.7%).

According to the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Tselikov, in the future the share of cars with a gun may slightly increase. Firstly, it is connected with the fact that the new models LADA are equipped more frequently with an automatic transmission. The second reason is price. Trending robotic boxes are cheaper than classic transmission that allows manufactures to keep the price of complete sets at a reasonable level. Well, and, thirdly, there are more and more women-drivers, and they prefer overwhelmingly the automatic transmission.
