OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank has been named "Strategic Investor of the Year" by The Moscow Times Awards 2015.

In March 2015, Sberbank acquired a controlling stake in Platius, the developer of the loyalty and mobile payment system of the same name, and Rutarget, the developer of the Segmento advertising platform.

Platius technology lets restaurant goers and shoppers independently pay for goods and services using a special mobile application and a bank card that has been registered with the application. To perform payments the buyer enters a short unique code from a receipt or shows a barcode on their telephone screen to the cashier. Money is then automatically debited from the bank card and the buyer is awarded bonus points.

Segmento uses artificial intelligence and real time big data processing in order to perform highly accurate targeted advertising based on information about the target person's behaviour.
