OREANDA-NEWS. Ford of Germany signed off 2015 with an outstanding sales performance in December.

Ford registered 19,721 new passenger cars in Germany last month - up 24.6 per cent year-on-year. By contrast, industry-wide passenger car registrations for the month increased 7.7 per cent compared with December 2014.
Overall, Ford can look back on 2015 as a very successful year with a qualitative growth in both retail and fleet registrations. In 2015, the company registered 20,769 passenger cars and commercial vehicles more than in the previous year.

In the past twelve months alone, Ford registered 224,579 new passenger cars in Germany– an increase of 7.4 per cent over the previous year. According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) industry-wide passenger car sales rose 5.6 per cent to 3,206,042 units. Ford’s passenger car market share was 7 per cent in 2015.

"We are pleased with the strong response to our products and the success in 2015. In particular, our outstanding and fresh product range, in combination with the strong distribution network, were the key to further growth in the retail and fleet segments. The customer-focused efforts of our distributors has contributed significantly to this performance, "said Wolfgang Kopplin, Director of Marketing and Sales, Ford of Germany.

Ford of Germany’s combined passenger car and commercial vehicle registrations for 2015 totalled 259,551 units, representing an increase of 8.7 per cent over 2014. Ford’s combined market share in Germany for the year rose 0.2 percentage points to 7.4 per cent.
