OREANDA-NEWS. Since January 1, 2016 Paul-Vincent Abs has been managing the business dealings of E.ON Metering GmbH alongside Robert Pfl?gl. Abs is taking over responsibility for the business area of Sales and is aiming to position the company as an even stronger service provider for intelligent metering in the market.

Abs had previously been with the E.ON Group between 2000 and 2014, during which time he worked as Managing Director of E WIE EINFACH, held responsibility for the area of new customers at E.ON’s German sales company and was also Managing Director of E.ON Inhouse Consulting. Before returning to E.ON, Abs worked as Managing Director and Partner at Bluberries, a concept and implementation consultancy specializing in the energy industry.

“In Paul-Vincent Abs, E.ON Metering has gained a proven energy and sales expert as a member of its management. Thanks to his experience at the E.ON Group and his work as a consultant in the energy sector, Paul-Vincent Abs supplements the expertise within the company optimally”, says Ingo Luge, Chairman of the Board of Management at E.ON Deutschland.

Since 2009 E.ON Metering has been bundling the E.ON Group’s competence in the area of smart metering and intelligent measuring systems. With the legislation for digitalization of the energy transition, this market is currently becoming much more dynamic, as the binding rollout of these systems is due to take place from as early as 2017.

“For public utilities in particular, the rollout of intelligent metering systems not only represents a huge challenge, but at the same time offers new possibilities for process optimization and customer support. The availability and quality of metering data will enable public utilities to offer added-value services that were previously not possible. This means they will be able to gain new customers and consolidate their existing customer base”, emphasizes Paul-Vincent Abs.

“To do so, though, public utilities need solid partners with efficient, tried-and-tested, and future-proof solutions. This is why, with the public utilities alliance metrology, we are providing a service offering that supports public utilities even as they prepare for the rollout, but also in the later operation of intelligent metering systems, with information, networking and jointly developed solutions”, Abs goes on to say, outlining the next tasks he plans to tackle as Managing Director of E.ON Metering.

As part of E-world from 16 to 18 February 2016 in Essen, E.ON Metering will present this platform in Hall 4, Stand 208, and provide information with the help of various experts in the topics of intelligent metering systems, gateway administration and the smart meter rollout.
