OREANDA-NEWS. At the end of 2015 car sales of premium segment were 149.9 thousand units, by showing a drop of 23%. It corresponds to a share of about 10% of the Russian car market.

Sales leader the third year in a row becomes a German Mercedes-Benz, whose passenger cars were sold in Russia in the amount of 41.6 thousand units (-15.4%), by occupying 28% in the premium class. Further, also the representatives of the "big German three» are following - BMW (27,5 thousand units; -22.6%) and Audi (25,7 thousand units; -24.6%), the  share of which are 18% and 17%, respectively.

Fourth position was taken by the Japanese Lexus (20,2 thousand units), which showed sales growth by 5.6%. The British Land Rover closed the top five leaders (11,6 thousand units; -45.1%). The sales figures of other premium brands were less than 10 thousand units. Among them, a positive trend is also showed by Porsche (+ 12,4%).

As the director of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergei Tselikov, said, the premium segment is feeling better than the market, which fell by 36%. In his opinion, the same trend will continue in 2016.
