OREANDA-NEWS. Nisa Retail, the specialist wholesaler and convenience symbol group, today announces strong retailer recruitment growth for the 9 months to 31 December 2015, as the company's turnaround gains further momentum.

·     374 new stores recruited in 9 months to 31 December 2015

·     199 new stores recruited in Q3 alone

·     Nisa now working with over 3,000 retail sites

Nisa Retail is pleased to announce that it has boosted its membership numbers by 374 stores over the last 9 months. The group enjoyed particularly strong Q3 recruitment, with 199 new stores joining Nisa in that period alone.

The announcement follows a strong Christmas trading update, in which Nisa reported increased sales of 6.3% to ?254m for the 10 weeks to 3rd January 2016, as its turnaround strategy gained further momentum.

The growth, which sees the number of retail sites supported by Nisa rise to over 3,000, reflects the progress made by the new management team since February 2015.  As part of its turnaround Nisa has successfully focused on providing more competitive pricing and sharper promotional offers to retailers. At the same time, the group has improved its distribution and service offering, both to existing retailers and to a broader spectrum of businesses seeking enhanced service, products and value.

Nick Read, CEO of Nisa Retail Limited, said: "Nisa's ability to serve and develop a wide range of business types, from symbol retailers through to independent groups, and new start-up operations that need intensive support, sets us apart from our competitors. Our improved retailer recruitment is a testament to our distribution, flexible service, popular chilled product range and award winning Heritage brand. In an increasingly competitive trading environment, it is our success in these areas that has convinced independent retailers to choose Nisa Retail, and we look forward to welcoming more retailers seeking to benefit from our leading services and scale.

Nisa supports over 1,300 member retailers, operating 3,000 retail sites throughout the UK, with some retailers operating under the Nisa brand and others under their own. Nisa supplies the stock and retail support that enables them to grow their businesses.
