OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit today. The officials tackled priority subjects on the bilateral agenda, the evolution of Moldova’s political situation, as well as collaboration opportunities to enhance Moldovan-American ties in various sectors within the current Moldovan-American strategic dialogue.

The Moldovan prime minister emphasized the priorities of its cabinet’s 100 days of government.  Besides, he touched upon concrete actions due to be taken to stabilize and improve the political, social and economic situation. To this effect, Filip said the government intends to resume negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and sign a new financing agreement as soon as possible.

Ambassador Pettit reiterated USA’s support for Moldova’s further implementation of reforms and its efforts to fight corruption, democratize the society and reform the financial-banking system.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip thanked USA for constantly backing Moldova and offering it financial support.
