OREANDA-NEWS. According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", at the end of 2015 in the Russian car market it was changed the leader among the classes. The most popular cars in Russia, two years later, are again cars of B- class, which were sold in amount of 600 thousand units. Thus, their share was 40%, for the year they added 8 points (in 2014 - 32%). Best-selling model in the segment became once again LADA Granta, whose sales were 120.2 thousand units. Korean Hyundai Solaris (115,9 thous. units) and KIA Rio (97,1 thous. units) here, also, hit the top three.

The former leader for the last two years the crossover and SUV segment with a share of 36% down on the second line. In quantitative terms, it is a little more than 540 thousand sold units. At the same time a year ago, the share of SUV segment in the country was 39%. The most popular here is still crossover Renault Duster, which was sold in amount of 43.9 thousand units. Also the C-Class continues to decline, whose market share in the last year fell from 16% to 11.5%.

As the head of the press service of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", Azat Timerhanov, said, a sharp rise in prices on the background of ruble devaluation has led to the fact that the cars of class SUV and C were less affordable for buyers. As a result, demand has shifted to less expensive models of the B- class.
