OREANDA-NEWS. The 38th Meeting of the Management Council of the Union of Road Transport Associations in the BSEC Region (BSEC-URTA) was organized at the BSEC Headquarters, on 4 February 2016. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Vladimir FLOREA, the President of BSEC-URTA. 

Ambassador Michael B. CHRISTIDES, Secretary General of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, Mr. Halim METE, Vice President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Mr. Radu DINESCU, Deputy Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and Vice President of BSEC-URTA, welcomed the participants in the opening session of the meeting. In their statements, they underlined the role of BSEC-URTA and the transport industry in trade and transport facilitation in the BSEC Region.

The Management Council discussed current trends in regional and global economy, international cooperation in the field of road transport, problems and challenges faced by the road transport industry and the ways to overcome them. The participants also addressed issues pertaining to the priorities of BSEC-URTA in 2016, the use of the BSEC Permit, institutional capacity building and administrative and financial matters.
