Xbox One and PC cross-buy will be 'platform feature,' says Phil Spencer
OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2016. Microsoft is aiming to make Cross-Buy and Cross-Save functionality between Xbox One and Windows 10 a core pillar of its gaming business, according Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
On February 11, Cross-Buy and Cross-Save support was announced for Quantum Break, the upcoming shooter from Max Payne and Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment, which is published by Microsoft. Spencer was asked on Twitter if he expects to see third-party games support these features too.
"We'll make it a platform feature," he replied. "We think it's good for gamers."
Although Spencer indicated he wants to introduce these features at a system level, there is no guarantee third-party developers and publishers will support them.
