OREANDA-NEWS. The Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) boasts the meanest and greenest from across the industry, drawing in the masses with its illustrious combination of performance, practical and luxury vehicles. With more than 300,000 visitors each year, CIAS is the largest consumer show in the country, positioning itself as a leader in lifestyle, technology and all things automotive.

CIAS kicked off with Media Day, a great opportunity to highlight Ford’s incredible performance lineup, innovations in green materials, as well as light-weighting technologies such as the industry-first Corning® Gorilla® Glass© hybrid windshield technology set to debut on the all-new Ford GT. It was also a day of Canadian premieres.

“2016 is going to be another exciting year,” said Jim Hartford, vice president, Marketing, Ford of Canada. “Today, I have the honour of unveiling the new technology-packed Ford Fusion family of vehicles and the tougher-than-ever Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew.”

The real excitement began, however, when the doors opened up to the public, welcoming guests from February 12 to February 21 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Ford doubles the fun with two zones: one for performance vehicles and the other for more general edu-tainment. While the performance zone features Ford’s hot performance lineup – along with a basketball shooting game, Forza racing simulator, and more – the general display offers a different kind of creative engagement. From the vehicle displays and a slow-motion take-home video of guests standing in front of a high-powered fan (simulating the rush of driving with an EcoBoost engine), to a LIDAR 3D face scanner showing visitors’ face ‘as the car sees them’, CIAS is a memorable experience for all.
