OREANDA-NEWS. The French Renault company plans to expand the production in Iran of its Logan and the Sandero models, and to start the production of two new ones, including Kwid. Renault representatives will soon visit Tehran to sign an agreement to launch a joint venture with Iranian company Pars Khodro, with which Renault has a joint venture subsidiary, to expand the production in Iran, informed the agency "Interfax".

Renault Pars - is an Iranian-French joint venture, established in 2004 by Renault and the Organization of industrial development and the reconstruction of Iran (IDRO). In September of 2015 the joint venture began the serial production of Renault Sandero cars. Before the introduction of sanctions the Renault’s share of the Iranian market was about 10%.

In 2011, due to imposed sanctions on Iran all foreign automakers (French Peugeot, Citroen and Renault, the German Volkswagen, the Japanese Toyota and Nissan, South Korea's Kia Motors) curtailed their cooperation with Iranian companies.
