OREANDA-NEWS. LADA Largus will soon receive a more powerful motor. The head of the project LADA Largus, Ilya Artemyev, said about it in an interview, published on the official LADA page in the social network "Vkontakte".

He said that at the plant during engine development, which corresponds to the ecological standard Euro-5, it was compared the new Togliatti and previously used Romanian engines. "We have a significant advantage for the maximum torque - 140 Nm, at the same time our engine has high rates also at the maximum torque of the motor. The torque provides accelerating dynamics, the car's ability to feel less burden”, - said Ilya Artemyev. – “Euro-5 standard requires light adjustment of control system and anti-aliasing modes for optimum engine performance and reduce emissions into the atmosphere, so we opted for the Russian unit with initially higher performance".

According to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", this engine is already used at LADA Granta and Kalina, but in this case it is adapted to the B0 platform of estate car with a separate subframe. Recall that we are talking about eight-valve engines VAZ-11189 1.6 liters, developing power of 87 hp at 5100 rev / min. At the same time Renault K7M, which was called by Ilya Artemyev not French, and at the place of production – Romanian, has a return of 84 hp at 5500 rev / min. AVTOVAZ assures that the new engine is also more economical than the former one - it consumes 8.2 liters per 100 kilometers instead of 9.3.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", by the results of January of 2016 sales of LADA Largus in the Russian market were 2065 vehicles, which is more by 8.5% than a year ago. Thus, this model remains the undisputed leader in the wagon market.
