OREANDA-NEWS.  KANZACC CO., LTD. (main office: Osaka, President: Hisakazu Ishibashi), a member company of the Furukawa Electric Group, is developing ENEFALL-DAN 5215—a water current type micro hydroelectric generator—and has announced that it has completed a prototype unit. KANZACC will continue to develop low-power generators for river irrigation channels and other small waterways.

Generators that use small hydroelectric power continue to be installed all over Japan as one means of obtaining renewable energy. Hydroelectric power is generated based on the amount of water and how far it falls. However, there are many cases where considerable civil engineering work is required to install generators and installation costs incurred along with generator facilities become expensive, making it difficult to implement hydroelectric power.

"ENEFALL-DAN 5215" Features

  1. Water current type unit makes it possible to generate power even on rivers and waterways with small height differences.
  2. Easy to carry and install (merely submerge it in a waterway) for drastically reduced costs.
  3. The generator is easy to maintain, and its structure makes it difficult for dirt clogs to form.
