OREANDA-NEWS. The Chinese company First Automobile Works (FAW) in 2015 sold in the Russian market 213 trucks in the HCV class, by occupying the first place among all Chinese manufacturers in the segment of trucks with the weight over 20 tons. Sales of new passenger cars FAW were about 100 units, according to the press service "FAW-Eastern Europe".

Despite the forecasts of reduction of the Russian car market, Chinese manufacturer intends to increase sales figures in Russia: by the results of 2016 FAW aims to sell 260 units of HCV-class trucks and 800 passenger cars. Further plans by sales of FAW passenger cars in Russia are 1.2 thousand units in 2017 and about 3 thousand units in 2018.

To date, FAW sells in the Russian market three passenger cars: compact sedans FAW Oley, and FAW V5, as well as mid-size sedan FAW Besturn B50. In the near future, the company plans to expand its model range of passenger cars in Russia with two new crossovers - FAW X80 and FAW D60. Both models were tested successfully in the Dmitrov proving ground in the suburbs of Moscow and they were approved by the type of vehicle (OTTS). Deliveries of new cars in Russia are planned in the near future.

Simultaneously, FAW aims to expand the dealer network for passenger cars, which at the end of 2017 will have 40 dealerships that are covering all major Russian cities.

The development is going through the car supply chain to Russia: from the middle of last year, the exclusive distributor of the brand in Russia for FAW passenger cars and trucks was the company "FAW-Eastern Europe" – the subsidiary of FAW Group. Earlier, it was responsible for the sales of only FAW trucks in Russia.
