Ambassador of Japan visits SOCAR
                           
 
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 28, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev held a meeting with Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Tsuguo Takahashi. After the cordial welcome, SOCAR President informed the guest about the global and regional projects implemented in Azerbaijan and stressed the long and efficient cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan. He said Japanese companies were successfully involved in the global projects carried out by SOCAR. Reminding of his last year visit to Japan, Rovnag Abdullayev said during the meetings held within the framework of this visit they discussed the prospects of cooperation on SOCAR’s Oil and Gas Processing and Petrochemicals Complex (OGPC) project and SOCAR supported the idea of investment by Japanese companies and banks in oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan. SOCAR President said that these proposals would be technically estimated during the visit of Mitsui representatives to Baku. He also appreciated training programs organized by IMPEX, one of the ACG shareholders, for the young Azerbaijani engineers and said sharing of experiences were important for both sides.

Ambassador Tsuguo Takahashi said the government of Japan looked forward to develop friendly relations with Azerbaijan in different spheres and gave importance to the economy, including oil and gas sector particularly. Ambassador Takahashi expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support of successful participation of Japanese companies in oil and gas projects carried out in the country and said Japanese companies were interested in the development of cooperation. The ambassador said they believed OGPC cooperation would contribute to the development of Azerbaijan-Japan relations.

The meeting also focused other issues concerned both sides.
