OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, a decision to expand the list of vital and essential medicines has been made. The updated list also includes new vaccines against the coronavirus COVID-19. In total, the list was expanded by 25 items, as announced by the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin. Prices for these drugs are regulated by the state, since drugs from it are allocated to privileged categories of citizens free of charge.

As the press service of the Russian government notes, the faster a medicine appears on this list, the more affordable it becomes for citizens. Vaccines against coronavirus, while these are two drugs - Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona, will be added to the list at the beginning of December 2020. The rest of the drugs will appear on this list a little later, from about the beginning of 2021. In total, the list of vital medicines will expand to 788 items.

By order of Mikhail Mishustin, four new drugs were added to the list of free drugs, which are necessary for the treatment of patients with hemophilia, Gaucher disease and multiple sclerosis. These are emicizumab, ocrelizumab, taliglucerase alfa, and simoctocog alfa.

Also on the list of free vital drugs were the following drugs: mebeverin, platyphyllin, mesalazine, sulfasalazine, metformin, alogliptin, vildagliptin, gosogliptin, linagliptin, saxagliptin, sitagliptin, evogliptin, dulaglutide, lixisenatiliphidosis, ellaglipliphidosis ticagrelor, romiplostim, eltrombopag, etamzilat, darbepoetin alfa, methoxypolyethylene glycol epoetin beta, epoetin alfa, epoetin beta, amlodipine, nimodipine, nifedipine, alfuzosin, tamsulocosin, clamicinitone, and other drugs.
