OREANDA-NEWS  Russian shipyards currently have about 60 river vessels, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov said during the international exhibition and forum "Russia".

"There are already about 60 river vessels under construction," he said.

In total, 260 civil vessels are planned to be built in Russia by 2028 with the involvement of funds from the National Welfare Fund (NWF), according to Osmakov's presentation.

Earlier, Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Saveliev said that the need to build a new fleet for inland waterways by 2035 is estimated at more than 500 vessels.
