OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2016. Sheryl Sandberg is one of the most high-profile executives in Silicon Valley. As such, there's always a lot of interest about what Facebook's chief operating officer might do next.

Turns out, more of the same. At least that's what she said when asked Wednesday if she'd ever leave the social network.

"I love my job," she said at Recode's Code Conference held in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California. "I don't want another job. I love Facebook and my team. I don't want to run for office."

Sandberg, a former Google executive, best-selling author and right hand to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is always brought up as a perennial short-lister whenever a new CEO spot opens up. There's also been speculation that she could eventually take the top job at Disney, where she now has a board seat.

Some have said she should run for office, and there was buzz two years ago that she was contemplating a Senate run.

She ruled it out then, and she ruled it out again today.
