OREANDA-NEWS  Employees of the Rostec holding company — Shvabe — were banned from using the iPhone for official purposes. This is reported by RBC with reference to the press service of the state-owned company.

This structure of Rostec is engaged in the development and production of optoelectronic systems. Mash was the first to write about the fact that such a restriction was introduced in Shvab on July 12. Sources told the publication that the ban on the use of Apple smartphones is connected with the publication of data on hacking and wiretapping by the American CIA of the iPhone of Russian diplomats.

Mash also published a service document introducing a new restriction. Rostec confirmed its authenticity to RBC journalists.

In early June, the FSB said that the special services use the equipment of an American manufacturer to spy on Russians, including Russian diplomats. The service stated that a virus in the software is used for this — it was detected by the FSB on several thousand iPhones.

The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov reported back in March that Kremlin employees are prohibited from using smartphones based on iOS and Android for official purposes. In July, Vedomosti reported that from the 17th a similar ban on the iPhone will be introduced in the Ministry of Industry and Trade and its subordinate organizations.
