OREANDA-NEWS. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, commented on the photos with lanterns on his Instagram account. According to him, they were made in support of a real Russian winter and the fight against climate change, and not with participation in an action in support of Alexei Navalny.

Dmitry Medvedev published several photographs the night before with snow-covered trees, some of them with burning lanterns. In the comments of the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, users clarified whether the publication was related to the rally in support of Alexei Navalny, during which people were invited to go out into their courtyard on the evening of February 14 and light their flashlights.

As an answer to this question, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation wrote: "This is in support of a real Russian winter, the fight against climate change and Greta."

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, earlier commenting on the calls of Alexei Navalny's supporters for a flash mob with flashlights, said that no one would play "cat and mouse"; if the law was violated, those responsible would be punished. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova noted that preparations for the action are being carried out according to the US manuals.
