Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager Software Delivers Enhanced Protection for Data Center IT Equipment through Integration with HPE OneView
Operators of data centers require significant visibility into their infrastructure, as adverse events such as overheating and power loss can lead to significant revenue loss. Through the integration of Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager software with HPE OneView, users can maintain business continuity by addressing issues such as overheating down to the server level. When issues do arise, Eaton’s software delivers alerts through HPE iLO and triggers preventive actions, such as power capping, through Eaton’s leading disaster avoidance portfolio.
“Infrastructure issues such as rack overheating and power loss are major causes of downtime in the data center, said Paul Miller, Vice President of Marketing, Converged Data Center Infrastructure, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “Integrating Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager software with HPE OneView automates the monitoring process so professionals can make immediate adjustments to their infrastructure using real time data. This will be invaluable in maintaining business continuity for our users in data centers employing HPE OneView.”
HPE OneView serves as an infrastructure automation engine to simplify operations by transforming everyday management of server, storage and network resources in physical and virtual environments. The innovative platform offers a unified workspace that allows an IT team to leverage the “one model, one data, one view” approach that increases the speed of IT delivery for new applications and services.
“This is an important milestone in our continuing effort to enhance our Intelligent Power Manager software with the capabilities users and channel partners demand,” said Herv? Tardy, vice president and general manager, Distributed Power Quality Division, Eaton. “We continue to collaborate with the world’s leading IT providers to make our vision of providing complete power management solutions a reality. By enabling new levels of business continuity in data centers, the integration with HPE OneView is a significant step toward achieving this goal.”
In addition to the HPE OneView integration, Intelligent Power Manager now has capabilities to manage the OpenStack management platform. Intelligent Power Manager’s updated connector provides capabilities of managing virtual machines, server workloads and storage volumes, including migration and shutdowns.
