OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2016. A working meeting of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Daniel Termont, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fluxys, and Pascal De Buck, Chief Executive Officer of Fluxys, took place today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016.

The parties addressed the prospects for cooperation, discussing, among other things, the possibility of jointly participating in the construction and operation of European-based infrastructure for receiving, storing and marketing small-scale LNG as a vehicle and bunker fuel, as well as an energy resource for autonomous gasification purposes.

Background

In 2015, Gazprom Group sold 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas in Belgium.

The Belgian gas transmission company Fluxys is engaged in natural gas transportation and storage, as well as offers infrastructure services in the field of large-scale and small-scale LNG. The company provides Gazprom with transmission capacities for gas deliveries to the United Kingdom.

On March 29, 2016, Gazprom and Fluxys signed the Framework Agreement on small-scale LNG cooperation in the European market.
