OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2016. Power management company Eaton today announced newly redesigned power lock plugs, connectors and receptacles for industrial manufacturing and hospital environments. The devices are designed to avoid exterior arcing by energizing within a chamber to enhance electrical safety.

“Eaton’s Arrow Hart power locking devices for hospital and industrial-grade applications are designed to provide reliable, code-compliant solutions that deliver performance and construction advantages, while enhancing safety and equipment protection,” said Grayling Love, product line manager.

Eaton power lock devices incorporate a variety of safety features to reduce potential equipment damage in demanding applications. A spring loaded safety shutter is designed to eject the plug if it has not been properly locked into the connector or receptacle. The safety shutter is also engineered to contain and extinguish arcs and prevent the entrance of foreign matter.

Other features, common among Eaton’s Arrow Hart locking devices, include an ergonomic shape that enables a solid grip and helps reduce slippage and a nylon shell for durability. Additionally, amperage and voltage ratings are printed on the body of the power lock devices for easy identification.

For reliable performance in harsh manufacturing environments, the power lock devices are available in standard configurations that meet Ingress Protection (IP) 30 ratings. The newly redesigned devices are available in 20A and 30A and are designed for non National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) configurations.
