Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto: EU and EC do Not Know How to Save the Economy without Russian Oil
“The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, came to Budapest, the Prime Minister (Orban) spoke on the phone with the President of the French Presidency of the European Union, Emmanuel Macron. These conversations made it clear to us that Brussels has no proposals and the European Commission has no proposals for a solution on how to deal with an atomic bomb-like strike on the Hungarian economy in the event of a possible embargo on oil coming from Russia,” Szijjarto said in his social networks.
He confirmed that Hungary would insist on removing the ban on pipeline deliveries of Russian oil from the new package of sanctions.
Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest would support the embargo on Russian oil imports only if the European Commission proposes a solution to the subsequent consequences in connection with this.
