OREANDA-NEWS The number of subjects of the Russian Federation which switched to intelligent control systems of the electric grid complex, by the end of 2024 should grow to 70. This is stated in the materials to the national projects published on the website of the government of the Russian Federation.

According to the results of 2021, new power grid management technologies should be introduced in 25 regions of the Russian Federation.

As reported, in December last year, the Board of Directors of the Rosseti electric grid holding approved the concept of digital transformation of the electric grid complex until 2030. As part of the approval of the concept, the Board of Directors instructed Rosseti to develop and submit for approval to the Board the procedure for the preparation and implementation of pilot projects, including on the basis of foreign experience. Pilot projects for digitalization should be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval in the first quarter of 2019.

For the first time, the program of digitalization of the electric grid complex was presented by Rosseti in February 2018 as part of the Russian investment forum in Sochi. The cost of the project was estimated at 1.3 trillion rubles.

It was noted that the implementation of the concept would be divided into three stages. The first stage should be implemented until 2023, the second - until 2025, the third - until 2030. Most of the investments - 47% of the total cost of the program - "Rosseti" plan to master in the framework of the second stage of digitalization of the power grid complex. As a result of digitalization, Rosseti plans to reduce network losses, operating and capital costs by 30% by 2030, as well as to increase the availability of technical connection to the networks by 1.5 times. Digitalization of power grids will also help to keep the rate of tariff growth below inflation.

In a number of regions of the country, digital solutions are already being actively implemented in power grids. Kaliningrad and Novgorod regions became pilot projects of digitalization of the electric grid complex in Russia. Also in July 2018, work began on the creation of a digital network in the Istra district of the Moscow region. They are planned to be completed by the end of 2019, which will make it possible to remotely control the network and electrical equipment in real time, continuously monitor the parameters of the process of transmission and consumption of electricity, carry out self-diagnosis.
