OREANDA-NEWS The Kazakh authorities expect that the price of Russian gas, which they plan to supply for gasification of the northern and eastern regions of the republic, will be fair. Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev told reporters on Tuesday.

"We understand that the gas price is determined by Gazprom Corporation and the Russian government. We are confident that pricing will be fair, based on friendly relations with both Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus. Factors of strategic partnership between our countries, including economic parameters, will also be taken into account," Satkaliyev said, answering a question about the price of possible Russian gas supplies.

In March of this year, the Government of Kazakhstan and Gazprom PJSC signed a protocol on cooperation in the gas industry for 2023-2024. Within the framework of the agreements, the issue of gasification of the north and east of Kazakhstan is also being worked out. According to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic, Russian gas supplies to Kazakhstan will be carried out on mutually beneficial terms and take into account the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
