OREANDA-NEWS In 2023, Russia increased oil supplies to friendly countries, the share of such exports increased to 86 percent. This is with reference to the presentation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, presented at the Energy Day within the framework of the exhibition-forum "Russia", RIA Novosti writes.

The share of exports of petroleum products to friendly states reached 84 percent last year. "After the imposition of sanctions, the volume of exports of oil and petroleum products was reoriented to new markets," the document says. For comparison, in 2021, friendly countries accounted for 40 percent of Russian oil exports and 30 percent of shipments of petroleum products abroad.

Earlier it became known that in January 2024, oil refining in Russia fell to 747.9 thousand tons per day, decreasing by almost 4 percent year-on-year. Compared to December, the figures decreased by 1.4 percent. During the month, oil workers processed about 23.18 million tons of raw materials. The reduction in volumes is explained by a decrease in production within the framework of agreements with Saudi Arabia to reduce exports of oil and petroleum products by 500 thousand barrels per day. Repairs at oil refineries and the disabling of installations due to increased drone attacks were also the reasons.
