OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of 2024, the total volume of high-octane gasoline exports from Russia has decreased by 27 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and dropped to the level of 639 thousand tons. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to sources.

In January, the average daily volume of Russian gasoline exports amounted to 14.7 thousand tons. For comparison, a year earlier, the indicator was at a record high of 20.1 thousand. At the same time, from February 1 to February 13, exports decreased by almost 28 percent compared to the same period last year, the interlocutors of the newspaper said.

The decline in exports this year is taking place, among other things, against the background of unscheduled repair work at two refineries (refineries), including Nizhny Novgorod. As a result, the volume of gasoline shipments to the domestic market in the first 13 days of February turned out to be 15 percent less than the planned level of the Ministry of Energy and amounted to about 1.32 million tons. In turn, the production of this type of fuel during this period of time decreased by 2.5 percent, to 1.52 million tons.

Against the background of repair work at two Russian refineries, oil refining volumes also decreased in January. In the first month of 2024, the indicator decreased by almost 4 percent and dropped to the level of 747.9 thousand tons per day. Compared to the December level, refining fell by 1.4 percent.
