OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian authorities have decided to lift temporary restrictions on gasoline exports. Kommersant reports on the approval of the lifting of the ban on the export of fuel from the country, citing sources.

Restrictions will be lifted for a period up to June 30 — the government must agree on a corresponding resolution within a week, after the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"We will wait for the appointment of all ministers, the formation of the government, then we will meet with colleagues and discuss this," Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.

The lifting of restrictions is explained by the saturation of the domestic market with petroleum products and the completion of the repair season at refineries. According to Maxim Malkov from Luze, unscheduled repairs that were caused by damage to the refinery after attacks by Ukrainian UAVs are also coming to an end. Permission to sell fuel abroad will allow exporters to receive an additional amount of currency without the risk of fuel shortages in the domestic market, the expert added.
