OREANDA-NEWS The Swedish vodka manufacturer Absolut and the French concern Pernod Ricard, which owns it, will resume the supply of alcohol to Russia. This is reported by Kristianstadsbladet with reference to a letter from the company's representative Paula Eriksson.

"Since the beginning of hostilities, Pernod Ricard has shown respect for employees both in Ukraine and in Russia. As part of the sanctions, the group supplies products in a volume that can protect local employees and ensure the financial stability of the local organization," the letter says.

In March 2022, the company announced the suspension of the supply of alcoholic beverages to Russia. As the publication notes, "the pause seems to have ended."

At the same time, it is not specified whether the supply of products of other brands of the concern will resume — Chivas Regal, Jameson, Ararat.

The United States, Australia and all EU members imposed sanctions against Russia after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, which also affected the export of alcoholic beverages.

In addition to Pernod Ricard, companies such as Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Baileys, etc.), LVMH (Hennessy, Moët & Chandon, Bacardi Limited) and Brown Forman (Jack Daniel's whiskey and Finlandia vodka) announced the suspension of supplies or a gradual complete shutdown of work on the Russian alcohol market.
