OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2016. Cooperation between WTC Moscow and Taipei reaches new heights – a meeting of the WTC Moscow Director General and a delegation from Taiwan has taken place

Meeting took place between the Director General of WTC Moscow Vladimir Strashko and a delegation fr om Taiwan, reaching a number of agreements about further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between World Trade Centers of Moscow, Krasnodar and Taipei, as well as about targeted cooperation with Russia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation.

During the meeting the parties exchanged information on the details of the Centers' work and discussed the most promising areas of cooperation that will contribute to the strengthening of trade, economic and cultural ties between Russia and Taiwan, and will turn the WTC into a center of attraction for business, political and expert communities of both countries.

The WTC Director General Vladimir Strashko stressed that the World Trade Center is ready to become a cooperation platform and provide support and information about Taiwan's culture as well as its trade and economic potential. Also, support in this matter could also be provided by the “Expocenter” Exhibition Complex, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and, of course, WTC Krasnodar.

In turn, the Director General of WTC Krasnodar Yuri Tkachenko spoke about the economy and the vast export potential of the region and invited the representatives of WTC Taipei and the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation to visit the International Investment Forum Sochi - 2016, which will take place in September.

“We have common goals. Just like you, we are interested in promoting trade and mutually beneficial cooperation. And we advocate the use of effective instruments, such as exchange visits, conducting workshops and organizing other events... and to get closer to our goal, we have to find common ground and we need to be realistic about our goals”, - said the representative of the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, David Wang.

In turn, representatives of WTC Taipei (the Executive Vice-President of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council Simon Wang, the Director of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council Vincent Siew) invited everyone to visit their Center and get acquainted with the possibilities it offers and its areas of activity, and also suggested organizing a seminar wh ere it would be possible to make a presentation and to expand business contacts.

The participants of the meeting agreed on the establishment of a plan of events to be held and on the signing in the near future of the Cooperation Agreement, which will help guide the joint efforts to implement the most relevant projects. In particular, the organization of trade missions, exhibitions and negotiations in Taiwan and in Moscow, as well as in other regions of Russia. The meeting ended with a sightseeing tour of the World Trade Center for the partners from Taiwan.
