OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2016.  Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (NYSE MKT:OSG) (the “Company” or “OSG”) announced today that it expects to join the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global Index at the conclusion of the Russell US Indexes and Russell Global Indexes annual reconstitution, effective after the U.S. market opens on June 27, 2016, according to a preliminary list of additions posted June 10, 2016 on the Russell Reconstitution section on the FTSE Russell website.

Annual reconstitution of the Russell US indexes captures the 4,000 largest US stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Membership in the US all-cap Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global Index, which remain in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the large-cap Russell 1000® Index or small-cap Russell 2000® Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes and sector and country indexes. FTSE Russell determines membership for its Russell indexes by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

“We are excited to join the Russell family of indexes,” said Captain

Ian T. Blackley, OSG’s president and CEO. “We believe that membership in the Russell indexes will increase our exposure to the broader institutional investment community, help further expand our shareholder base, and contribute to our efforts to enhance shareholder value,” Blackley added.

Indexes provided by FTSE Russell, a leading global index provider, are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately \\$6 trillion in assets are benchmarked against the Russell US indexes.
