OREANDA-NEWS. Ural Airlines has launched regular services from Saint Petersburg to Batumi (Georgia). The first flight took place on May 16, 2016. This is the first introduction of services to Batumi in the recent history of St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport.

The carrier will operate 2 weekly services — on Mondays and Fridays. The time en route is 3 hours 20 minutes for the way there and 3 hours 25 minutes for the way back. The airline will utilize comfortable Airbus A320 airplanes, with a capacity of up to 160 passengers.

Batumi is the second Georgian destination in Pulkovo’s route network. Since 2015, regular flights from St Petersburg to the country’s capital Tbilisi are operated by Georgian Airways and by Ural Airlines.

Ural Airlines is one of top five largest airlines flying from Pulkovo. Over the past five years the number of Ural Airlines passengers serviced at the airport grew by 79%, reaching 480,300 persons in 2015. This summer season the airline will operate regular flights from St Petersburg to 17 destinations (Barnaul, Barcelona, Batumi, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Yekaterinburg, Yerevan, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Larnaca, Moscow, Orenburg, Osh, Rostov, Simferopol, Sochi, and Tbilisi), charter flights to 7 cities (Burgas, Varna, Heraklion, Palma, Rimini, Rhodes, and Enfidha), and flights to five destinations in the Far East with a lay-over (Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk, Khabarovsk, Chita, and Yakutsk).
