OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot has identified business-class passengers’ inflight menu favourites through an innovative survey conducted together with Agency One communication digital agency. Aeroflot On Board Meals survey is the air carrier’s another crowdsourcing project aimed at harnessing creative minds to address business challenges. Through polling its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vkontakte social media followers Aeroflot has revealed what dishes are most favoured by its customers on board.

To ensure a representative sociological snapshot the developers created  www.aeroflotfood.ru  website. It displays information on dishes featured in Aeroflot business-class catering menu since 2009. A photo and ingredients’ list accompanied the name of a dish. All dishes were sorted out in seven categories: meat starters, fish starters, soups, hot dishes with poultry, hot dishes with fish, hot dishes with meat and vegetarian hot dishes. Website visitors rated dishes on a 10-point scale in each category.

Mass voting started on 11 May and ended on the night between 23 and 24 May. The list summing up the poll results is currently overhauled to select dishes for the re-entry in the inflight catering menu.   

The meat starters category drew most attention, vegetarian hot dishes were considerably less commented upon. The winning dishes list is as follows:

On completing the main poll users were asked to take an additional one. They were offered a question: “How would they feel if a request to bring seat back in upright position for the convenience of passenger sitting behind is announced via loudspeakers during the food service?” 79% of the users participating in the poll answered positively, 16% said “no” and 5% were undecided. The respondents could share a recommendation on how to improve Aeroflot service. During the crowdsourcing project the airline received about 300 suggestions part of which will be implemented in short term.
