OREANDA-NEWS. IRU welcomes the action taken by the European Commission to begin infringement proceedings against France over its minimum wage legislation application to international road transport operations. It reiterates its call for an immediate moratorium of the French legislation on all affected international transport operations while the infringement process is underway.

Michael Nielsen, who leads IRU’s work in the EU said, “I welcome the EC decision to begin infringement proceedings against France. Unclear national measures like the French Loi Macron add significant uncertainty, administrative and financial burdens to operators.”

IRU urges the EC to complete the infringement procedure as rapidly as possible in order to provide clarity to all transport operators.
