OREANDA-NEWS. Against the backdrop of unconfirmed rumors about the allegedly upcoming “invasion” of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine on February 15 and 16, the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service announced its version and rescheduled the date of the “attack” to the end of February, according to an official report. At the same time, the main reason why this offensive did not take place on the dates "announced" earlier by the West, the authors of the analytics called "the unpreparedness of the Russian army."

According to our assessment, the Russian armed forces can start a full-scale operation against Ukraine from the second half of February. Once military readiness is achieved, only a political decision will be required to launch the operation, the authors of the report said.

In addition, Estonia acknowledged that Russia's actions taken on its own territory do not pose a threat either to NATO or specifically to the Baltic countries. But at the same time, the authors of the report actively use the idea that the countries of the West, in any case, need a policy of containment of Moscow.

Earlier, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that it was useless to talk about the dates of a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine. He said that there was no point in speculating about specific dates. According to him, at the moment, London has not recorded the withdrawal of Russian troops from the borders of Ukraine.
