OREANDA-NEWSOnce again, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States requested the editors of The New York Times not to publish geographical maps as illustrations for their articles on which the Crimean Peninsula is not included in Ukraine. "The embassy once again appealed to the editors of The New York Times to avoid mistakes in the image of Crimea on the map of Ukraine and not play into the hands of Russian information propaganda", the Ukrainian embassy in the United States said in a statement on Facebook on Wednesday.

A map that contradicts the official version of Kiev on Crimea’s ownership was published as an illustration of an article on the plans of the Ukrainian billionaire Igor Kolomoisky to build a ski resort in the mountainous area Svidovets in Transcarpathia. On the map, the territory of Ukraine is indicated in a lighter tone than the territory of Crimea, shaded with a dark tone, which marks the territory of Russia. "The error must be fixed!" - urge Ukrainian diplomats of American journalists.

This is not the first such case. In 2017, The New York Times published a map on which Crimea did not differ in color from the rest of the Russian Federation.
