OREANDA-NEWS. June 3, 2008. Foreign students from the three Grodno universities will take part in the Festival of National Cultures that will be held in Grodno June 13-15. The students from Lebanon, Syria, India, Sri Lanka and Palestine are participating in this forum for the first time. They are going to set up a multinational ground “Students’ round dance”.

The centre for mass communications of Grodno Yanka Kupala State University told BelTA that in the course of the festival the students will perform their national songs and dances. The guests of the “Students’ round dance” will have an opportunity to take part in various competitions and a dancing marathon and to try national cuisines.

During the first day of the event the foreign students will participate in the festive procession and later they will take part in the gala-concert.

Participating in the 7th Festival of National Cultures will be over 700 artistes from national art groups. More than 27 ethnicities will be represented at the forthcoming event which is composed of 40 various activities. They include a national song contest, a concert given by trade unions, a festival of national humour, a parade of Grodno brass bands, a festival of national cinema, etc.

A new covered stage and a huge plasma screen will be installed in Grodno central square to display forum’ performances.
