OREANDA-NEWS. On July 12, 2008 An exhibition of Indian mini technologies and equipment "India Minitech-2008" opened at Uzexpocentre in Tashkent, reported the Official website www.investuzbekistan.uz.

The exhibition has been organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan jointly with State Demonopolization Committee, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan and Indian embassy in Tashkent.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Skand Radjan Tayal, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaykhov and other high-ranking guests participated in the event's opening ceremony.

The exhibition presents mini technologies and equipment of 47 leading Indian corporations and companies, entering the structure of the National Corporation and Small Industry Enterprises of India. Such events should be a stimulus for the development of small business, as mini technologies are its engine, organizers of the exhibition said.

"India Minitech-2008" aims to strengthen business ties between the entrepreneurs of India and business circles of Uzbekistan, support small business and private entrepreneurship, as well as to create opportunities for supply with compact and energy saving technological equipment.

"Our company is multi-profile, producing various types of machines," manager of Singhs Exports Onkar Singh told UzReport.com. "Our machines are intended for production of pancakes, napkins. We also manufacture machines for honey and oil filtration. The range of our products also includes coffee-grinders and mini mills, nails, screws, metallic nettings and barbed wire".

"Small and private business is developing rapidly in Uzbekistan. Before arriving here I had studied your country very thoroughly. Our equipment is intended for small and private enterprises. I've witnessed that many Uzbek businessmen are interested in our equipment, and we hope to find partners here within several days and conclude a lot of mutually beneficial contracts," Onkar Singh said.

Arun Gupta, Director of Kat Industrial Consultants Pvt. Ltd, publishing and polygraph company, said: "Our main activity is preparation of methodical manuals for businessmen. In our publication we tell how to start business, what is necessary to know, what kind of mistakes should be avoided, etc."

Kat Industrial Consultants is one of successful companies in India. Its products are demanded virtually throughout the country. In 2007, the company's annual turnover made up nearly USD 50 million.

"Such exhibitions are a good stimulus in the development of small business. Therefore our main goal is to establish bilateral ties, familiarize Uzbek entrepreneurs with our products and exchange work experience in this sphere," Arun Gupta added.

Many visitors of "India Minitech-2008" showed interest in the stand which demonstrated a welding mini apparatus. "I brought to Uzbekistan a welding apparatus which is very handy, and consuming less energy than its analogues works much longer," manager of Electra company Pavan Kumar said.

Such a welding apparatus costs some USD 250 and it is much cheaper than similar devices of this series produced in other countries. "I hope that Uzbek businessmen of small and private sector will like our apparatus. Last year our annual turnover exceeded USD 5 million, and we surpassed this indicator in the six months of this year. We plan to find partners in Uzbekistan," Kumar noted.

"We invited the representatives of small and private business of India to participate in this exhibition," K.D. Deval, Second Secretary of Indian embassy in Tashkent, said. "But I should note that organization of this exposition would be impossible without the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan".

"We hope that many Uzbek companies will be interested in our technologies and productions at the exhibition. I believe, such mutual relations will have a positive impact on the trade and economic indicators of Uzbekistan and India, and will result in growth of exports and imports between the two countries," the Indian embassy's representative noted.
