OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2008. Construction of the building of the local history museum has been started in Turkmenabat. In accordance with the Resolution of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov the Injisel In?aat Company (Turkey) is to implement the project amounted to USD 17.5 million. In less than six months a wonderful museum complex with the area of 8,100 square meters with the adjacent territory will spring up at the administrative centre of the Lebap Velayat. The three-storey building will house five exhibition halls, assembly hall, service rooms and depositories for the priceless rarities. The current museum collection consists of about 20,000 exhibits including the unique ones.

The newly-constructed buildings are everywhere in the town on the Amu Darya River. The museum building is one of the large-scale projects initiated by the Turkmen leader in the region. By the end of 2008 the architectural ensemble of the administrative centre of the Lebap Velayat will be replenished with the magnificent complexes including Ruhiyet Palace, Ene Myakhri Centre, the first school with multimedia equipment in the velayat, sports complex with the 10,000-seat stadium and may others. At present, the Turkmen, Russian and Turkish specialists are engaged in constructing the facilities. Along with the social facilities a cotton spinning mill with the estimated cost of over US\\$ 85 million and production capacity of 17,500 tons a year in under construction in Turkmenabat. The project on construction of the mill complex including the grain elevator for storing of 100,000 tons and automated mill house with the annual capacity of 80,000 tons of high-quality flour will be launched in Turkmenabat this autumn.
