OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2008. Transport communication in the zone of natural disaster has been practically resumed during one month. Yulia Tymoshenko announced that during a grand opening of temporary bridge crossing over the river Bystrytsya Solotvynska in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to the Head of Government out of 1250 kilometres of highways destroyed or damaged as a result of floods 1200 kilometres of roads have been overhauled during the month. “By the Independence Day the communication with all 160 localities cut off through the disaster has been resumed,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.

The Head of Government stressed that such large-scale works proved possible owing to selfless activity of all road-transport services and construction services as under the normal conditions UkrAutoDor implements such amounts of work during a year.

Prime Minister also added that up till now water, gas and electric supply has been practically resumed in the flood-hit areas. So to say, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, the first stage of overhaul works has been practically completed. Premier was heard as saying, the Gov’t is ready to finance all the works into launch of communication “capable to stand a twice heavier disaster and to operate through centuries”.

Besides, Yulia Tymoshenko thanked to the workers of road-construction service for the self-sacrificing activity and presented them with certificates of the Cabinet of Ministers and gratitude certificates of Prime Minister.
