OREANDA-NEWS. September 01, 2008. Yulia Tymoshenko calls for heads of regional state administrations by September 1 to pay reimbursement for preparation for school year to children from flood-hit regions

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko is not satisfied with the pace reimbursement is paid in the regions suffered from July floods.

For today the state reimbursement for preparing to the new school year has been received by only 72% of families who have schoolchildren and students.

Yulia Tymoshenko announced that to journalists following a selector meeting in readying for the new school year of educational establishments suffered in the result of natural disaster in Vinnytsya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattya, Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions.

The funds necessary for preparing for September 1 had been transferred by the Government several weeks ago, though, over delay of local state administrations not all schoolchildren and students from the flood-hit areas have received this state assistance. Prime Minister is peculiarly worried about a situation in Lviv region where the money for preparing children for the new school year has been gained by only 3% of families, ranked 1-3 categories of suffered from floods.

In this connection the Premier has empowered heads of regional state administrations to complete 100% payment of reimbursement in the amount of 1 thousand hryvnyas per schoolchild or student by September 1.
